Too bad, so sad...

There are a few things I like more than clothes and shoes. At the top of my list of additional likes are men. In all occasions with men, I try to make sure they know I like nice clothes and shoes (this way they can never go wrong with gifts- they know what I like from the jump- lol). Now, there are 3 very specific instances I make sure I look spiffy with anything involving the opposite sex. Below are my scenarios and the looks for each. Boots are my favorite shoe style, so each scenario involves boots. Let me know what you think-

Scenario 1
"Oh sh*t, he's fine and coming my way!"- 1st Meeting
Imagine you're having dinner and drinks with your girls at a really cute, new spot. You step away from the table and head to the restroom. As you get up from the table, you spot a dangerously fine man heading in your direction, smiling hard as hell at you. He's smiling really hard because you look amazing!

Sequinned anything is in right now. I love sequinnes! This dress is like many of the designer ones all over but this one is fab-slash-carnote friendly- Urban Outfitters, $78.00.


I love color and its always nice to wear a vibrant color on your feet when you wear black clothes. Shave your legs and slather on the cocoa butter! Steve Madden, Cosetta $129.95



Scenario 2
"This isn't working for me anymore, maybe we should just be friends."- The Breakup
It wasn't your fault things didn't work. He's a cool guy but being in a relationship with him isn't a good idea right now. The last thing he should rememeber about you is how great you looked when you broke it off. Maybe how great you look coupled with your speech will make him get his act together- lol.

Since the last thing he'll see are your feet as you walk away, you have to wear these...


Of course they're by Steve Madden. This color makes me think of a leather trench coat from the 70's. You can work these again with a dress or a skirt on a date with the new beau- lol. A great buy for $103.96

This one is my favorite! It's nothing like seeing an ex and you look even more stunning than when you met, dated and broke up. You can ususally tell from their face how wonderful you look and how dumb they feel for letting you slip through their fingers.

Another great piece by Jules Smith Designs. The designer, Gina Nigrelli, makes some awesome stuff! You have to visit the site- I will be posting their stuff all week. The line is based in the U.S. Virgin Islands and is a really fun line with sexy, sophisticated pieces. All of their stuff feels like something you'd buy for yourself as a well-deserved treat.

New gig, new clothes

Hey all- Erica here. So I am in a mood. When I get in a mood, I shop. Since it's the first of the month and I'm still recovering from rent, this here blog is gonna fill my void for spending. My thing this week is interview clothes- why? Because I'm working with the Law of Attraction folks- get the clothes for a new gig and you'll get one. :)

Do you remember Spiegel? I hope its not just me that used to spend hours drooling over their catalogues back in like 88- lol. They are online, like everyone else in the 21st century and have some great things. These pleated twill wide legs are $159 and a great investment. Check them out at Spiegel.com.

Bad azz pants deserve a hot azz blouse, especially one under $50.00.

Nordstrom, known for their amazing return policy (I bought something back in 95 and they let me return it in 98!!!) also has a great Juniors section called BP. They have great pieces, including this shirt by Lovesquared for $32.00. You can't beat that price for that style. I've found similar tops other places but this one will look how it did when you bought it after you wash it. There is nothing wrong with disposable clothes but this is a pretty classic piece you could wear often. 32 bucks won't kill you- Nordstroms.com

So let's say I landed that fly gig I interviewed for, wearing the fab outfit above- benefits, paid vacation and an office- yay me! Now, I have to be sure to keep up that fashionista boss image. Its always funny how after you get the job wearing pantyhose, a cute business suit and closed-toe shoes you switch to the real you come casual Friday- skin tight jeans, a faded black tee & green flip flops. Can't go out like a sucka so I here's what I'm wearing on my first casual Friday.

Back to reality- fantasy shopping for my fantasy job was super fun but now its time to spend moeny in the real world. I met someone awesome (Hi Dana!) that works for Paige Denim (www.paigepremiumdenim.com). She let me know they're having the shizzle sample sale, the only one they've had all year so there's loads of stuff to buy. Paige jeans are really hot, fit almost every shape and are pretty reasonable for designer jeans. The sample sale is your chance to get a $150 pair of jeans for less than $100. You can't beat that! Set aside a few bucks and set an alarm in your Blackberry for next Saturday!

I was thinking and realized I need to redeem myself for all the budget-blowing shoes I posted a few days ago. I see shoes and lose all self-control- lol. Do you forgive me? I have some good stuff today that will make you smile and forget I was so careless with your money- lol.

I am a gold shoe girl but silver is making my style senses tingle lately. Silver is getting a lot of attention right now. Last year it was all about gold nails, earrings, shoes and bags. This year is giving attention to silver. Check these out.


I found these at a really cute site called Flyjane.net. They're only $49.90- which is a great price for a trendy pair of shoes. These work with jeans, a cute party dress (look at that ankle strap) or leggings like in the picture. I would rock these at a cute dinner with the girls.


These are by JustSweet by JLo. This line is a step up from her regular JLo line. These look pretty swanky. You'd have to make sure your feet were shined up just right to wear these. This is a great party shoe- not too sext but just sexy enough. These are online at Macys.com for 100.00.

I know I started out with silver shoes, but these fall into the color family.

I love these shoes! They are multi-purpose pumps. You could wear them to a job interview with some really sexy trousers or cigarette skirt. You could do jeans with a cushy cowl neck sweater and then hit a wine bar in a skin tight dress and be live! They're by MaxStudio, online at Macys.com for $159.00. Of the 3 shoes in the silver/ grey family, these are my favorite. They're a dot of a splurge but it is Christmas!

Im not all about material gifts to make up my mistake the other day. I care about what you read and how your life is enriched (lol). A couple of friends who have the scoop on EVERYTHING celebrity related have a great new site you need to read after checking this blog DAILY (that was a suggestion to your subconscious- lol). Alex & Lynn were the great couple from The Amazing Race and you can catch them on all kinds of red carpets being FAB! Check out www.laragmag.com and tell them I sent you!

One of the best pieces of advise I've ever gotten was to make sure I had some shinny lipgloss and good jeans at all times, no matter what. Brea Stinson, stylist to the stars (and that ain't no cliche- this chick has dressed Usher, Jay-Z, Ginuwine and many more dangerously sexy men and women) gave me that advice. She has an awesome line called BStar and is collaborating with a few other designers for a trunk show in New York. (I'm coast to coast with my connects :)
